Visit from the Queen!
During the topic Bright Lights! Big City! The children were lucky enough to visit the Queen! We went on a journey around the school to London by traveling on a bus and getting on the tube! We then arrived at Buckingham Palace. The children enjoyed asking the Queen some questions and sharing afternoon tea!
Re-enactment of The Battle of Bosworth
The children had a fantastic time learning about the events leading up to the Battle of Bosworth. Class 1a took on the role of being Richard III whilst class 1b became Henry Tudor. The children enjoyed designing and making their own shields and became actors to perform the Battle of Bosworth in the school playground!
Please take a look at our fabulous photos :)

Reading is key to children in Year 1 and we recommend you read everyday for 10 minutes with your child. We ask the parents to sign the reading diary and make a small comment. We will then be able to change your child’s reading book promptly and efficiently.
Please could you ensure that you have put your child’s name in their school uniform and P.E Kit. On P.E days could all children who have their ears pierced make sure they have been taken out before coming to school.
All children should be provided with a water bottle which is kept in the classroom.
Please bring a coat in the Winter months and a sunhat and sun cream in the Summer.
