Welcome to our News in Brief page! Here we will celebrate some of the fantastic activities around our school in words and pictures.

Big Sing 2016

Last night, 34 children from our Y3 and 4 choir took part in a wonderful concert at the Derngate Theatre, singing with children from 14 other schools. The children have been practising hard in their lunchtimes with Miss Ludlow to learn a number of songs from Disney medleys to the Skyfall film theme. The ‘500 strong’ schools’ choir sang brilliantly and the whole concert was of a very high standard.  A special well done to Georgia in Y6 who performed with the County Junior choir for the first time!

World Book Day 2016

Thank you to parents for sorting out costumes for the children to wear as part of our World Book Day celebrations. The children had a fabulous time dressing up and showed off their characters in our special assembly.
The day was filled with different ‘book’ activities and the sound of Miss Ludlow playing her trumpet signalled to everyone to drop everything and read at key points! We hope the day will help keep reading a high priority in the school and encourage the children to read as much as possible. The children looked wonderful, with so many interesting and ‘creative’ book characters; there were a number of Harry Potters, several Cat in the Hats and quite a few Wallys!
