Out of This World!

Year 5 are out of this world!

What a fantastic, space-filled week Year 5 have had! Last Thursday we visited The National Space Centre as part of our Stargazers topic. The children had a show at the planetarium, experienced many interactive activities, read, puzzled, listened, looked and learned – and behaved impeccably to boot! It was a wonderful day and we were very proud of them all.

Upon our return there was no time to relax as it was straight into rehearsals for our curriculum assembly. The children performed four songs, acted, danced and demonstrated superb teamwork throughout all our performances and practices. Our audiences all appreciated the super shows and, once again, Mr Law and I were immensely proud.

We really did “Shoot for the Stars! Thanks to everyone at home who helped out with word learning and costumes, and to the Year 5 team of staff and children who showed what true badger behaviour looks like!

Moulton’s Artsmark Journey

We are pleased to announce that Moulton is now working towards becoming an ‘Artsmark’ School. Artsmark is an award granted by the British Arts Council, to those who demonstrate their commitment to embedding arts and cultural provision at the heart of their school. Within Artsmark, ‘art’ is considered as a broad term that extends across art and culture. Examples may include dance, drama, visual arts, digital media, film, cultural heritage and music. Studying the arts provides tangible benefits for children by contributing to their wellbeing and developing both their intellectual capacity and their practical skills. Through further developing our quality arts and cultural education we endeavour to provide every child with the opportunity to create, compose and perform as well as to visit, participate and review extraordinary work across our curriculum topics. Artsmark is an award for schools who demonstrate their commitment to embedding arts and cultural provision at the heart of their school.
