Year 2 Statutory Assessment

Year 2 Statutory Assessment

Changes to KS1 assessment in 2016

A new national curriculum was introduced in 2014, as a result, the KS1 statutory assessment or ‘SATS’, have been modified in order to assess the new curriculum. All pupils in England will take these new tests for the first time in May 2016. In addition, from 2016, the KS1 test outcomes will no longer be reported using levels but using scaled scores instead.

The KS1 tests do not have set days for their administration, but schools must administer the tests during May 2016. At Moulton, to ensure that the children do not worry or feel stressed about the tests, we present them a fun, challenges when they get to show how much they have learned at school; they may not even know they are doing them! The tests are carried out in the classroom and sometimes in small groups with additional adults. If you have any questions or concerns about your child and the SATS, please speak to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible.
